Making a selection is the third broad approach that you might use in Photoshop. Previously we’ve looked at two other broad approaches – changing every pixel, and painting a change in with a brush tool. Using a selection tool to select the pixels you want to change is sometimes the best way to go. In the next few videos you’ll learn how to use a variety of Photoshop’s selection tools.
In this lesson you’ll learn to use the Quick Selection tool, and also learn about how to take your selection and put it on its own layer, surrounded by transparent pixels..
